Mothmeister: We’re intrigued by the latest creations from artists Mothmeister who create somewhat frightening photographs that are caught between our worst nightmares and old-world taxidermy and feature objects from their vast cabinet of curiosities. Their Wounderland series leads us into a strange and disturbing world which is inhabited by scary creatures and deformed animals. Creepy as yet we love their haunting impact.
KFC: So, to celebrate 60 years in Canada, KFC have created a new chicken bucket that doubles as an instant photo printer. The ‘Memories Bucket’ is a new high-tech, limited-edition big bucket that helps you print your photo on the go as you’re creating them. W. T. F.?! While specs of this device are limited, the functionality seems simple enough – it’s a standard instant photo printer that’s bucket shaped. First, snap a photo on your phone and once the printer is on, select your pic and send it to the printer via Bluetooth. KFC says on its Facebook page that it will be releasing more details about this bucket photo printer soon, and will be giving a few of them away as well. No word yet on whether it will be commercially available to anyone or in any other country (Aussie summer cricket gold!). Oh dear…this is bound to end in disaster. Who on earth wants a pic of someone with potato n’ gravy all over their face? Actually, second thoughts…this could be quite useful. Dirty birdy lol 😉
The Daily Splice: Loving the clever creations of British artist Adam Hale, aka The Daily Splice, who uses free newspapers and magazines around London to create a new collage every day, cutting up assorted photographs and assembling them by hand. Awesome stuff! 🙂
Amy Lombard: We love this collaboration between photographer Amy Lombard and nail artist Natalie Pavloski, who create colourful and dripping compositions featuring female hands adorned with fake nails and surrounded by copious amounts of junk food, hamburgers, pizza, donuts. The world of fashion meets food porn. Yum!
Peechaya Burroughs: We love the work of Australian graphic artist and photographer Peechaya Burroughs who has taken an amusing series of photos in which she created real life emojis and other child-like, playful images, some made from food. Fantastic stuff! 🙂
Freaky Flowers: A beautiful time-lapse video by photographer Greg Krehel, ‘Freaky Flowers’ compares the flowering of cactus from the Echinopsis family, with some real natural fireworks. So amazing – Happy Friday, everyone! 🙂
Cheyenne Randall: We love this new batch of photoshopped tattoos on celebrities by artist Cheyenne Randall, who continues to create the imaginary body art of celebrities, from Elizabeth Taylor and Christina Ricci through to James Franco, Bill Murray, Frida Kahlo and Sofia Loren. Very cool! 🙂
Adriana Napolitano: Loving the original creations of Berlin photographer/set designer/crafty Tonia, Adriana Napolitano, who has fun surrounding her models with colourful paper props, such as tentacles, superhero costumes, tools and food, all uniquely handcrafted with a lot of humour. Sacha Goldberger: A continuation of his 2014 ‘Super Flemish’ series, ‘Family Portrait’ is a new photo series by talented French photographer Sacha Goldberger who mixes pop culture, superheroes, Flemish painting and the Elizabethan era to create these unique family portraits, featuring awesome vintage versions of Wolverine, Captain America, Han Solo, Hulk, Wonder Woman, the Joker, Batman and so on.
