The Clever Cutter is an aptly named gadget that conveniently combines a sharp kitchen knife with a handy cutting board on the opposite side and cuts food like scissors cut paper. It’s a fast, easy way to chop vegetables, fruits, meats, cheese, maybe a finger and can slice perfectly thin pieces for simple yet elegant serving. As lazy people who loathe food preparation, we need, want, LOVE it! Gimme gimme gimme 🙂
Available from Rakuten, Sushi Backpacks pay tribute to three great classics of sushi – the Sake Nigiri (salmon), the Ebi Nigiri (shrimp), and the Tamagoyaki Nigiri (Japanese omelette). Clearly for those of you who want to shout out your love of sushi to the world and are not afraid of ridicule 😉 Lots of fun – Happy Friday! 🙂
KFC India have introduced the KFC Watt a Box, a take away chicken box with a rechargeable USB battery so customers can plug in their devices for a little extra boost while eating. The Watt a Box is a collaboration between the fast food chain and Blink Digital with limited edition boxes given to a few customers at locations in Mumbai and Delhi. Great marketing gimmick that could actually come in handy 🙂
So Impossible Foods in Redwood City, California have created an incredible burger that possesses the appearance, textures, aromas, and flavours of real meat, but is actually made completely from plant-based ingredients. Using a specific protein molecule that is found in both sources, the company was able to re-create the burger experience without the negative health and environmental effects. Woo hoo, everyone’s a winner – product OTD! 🙂
Created for The New York Times entitled ‘Desktop Dining’, photographer Brian Finke documented the depressing reality of lunches at the office, capturing employees eating in front of their computer, during a meeting or in the lunch area – simple images where the cold and corporate universe of the workplace contrasts with dodgy sandwiches and dripping pizza.
Promoted in this beat box-style video created by Ogilvy Hong Kong, KFC in Hong Kong have partnered with McCormick, the spice company that mixes their secret recipe, to create a limited run of edible “finger lickin’ good” nail polishes that come in the most popular flavours such as Original and Hot & Spicy. This marketing gimmick takes licking your fingers to a whole new level…WTF?!
We love the amazing creations of Janet Best, an American confectioner and owner of Etsy shop Sugar Bakers Bakery who inserts colourful and edible flower petals, such as blueberry flowers, pansies, and daisies, into her original and bespoke sugar lollipops. Fantastic stuff! 🙂
